Refcon has completed a major SCR Maintenance project near Gillette, Wyoming on behalf of Basin Electric Power Cooperative.

Dry Fork Station, Gillette, Wyoming

The Dry Fork Station began operation in 2011. It had been utilizing a Large Particle Ash (LPA) screen system that was installed during original construction. The existing system had become damaged beyond repair, and a new system was purchased from Integrated Global Services. Refcon disassembled the existing system and performed a retrofit installation of the newly purchased equipment.

The new system consisted of a modular screen system that spanned the entire lower duct work which was designed to stop and break up LPA prior to it entering the SCR. It also boasts a dual air cannon system that prevents buildup on the screen and allows the flue gas to continue through the system as designed.
